Why are my images re-compressed?

There are situations when the images that were previously compressed appear as un-optimized and they are processed again by our plugin.

This happens when our logs from the WP metadata are missing, and the plugin "believes" that the images aren't compressed.

The possible causes for the missing records are:

1. Other plugins altered/deleted our logs from the WP metadata. The most common suspects are the regeneration thumbnails plugins, the thumbnail editor plugins and some watermark plugins. If you have a Thumbnail Regeneration plugin, we recommend to replace it with reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced, which works well with ShortPixel.

2. The site was moved to another hosting/domain without copying the WP metadata.

3. The Bulk Delete SP data button was clicked. This action triggers the removal of our records from the WP metadata.
