Terms of Service - 2023 update

In this article, you will find the main changes to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy made in the first quarter of 2023.

Web hosting services

ShortPixel now offers web hosting services, in addition to the image optimization tools we already offer. For this reason, we have updated our Terms and Conditions to cover this service as well.

Fair Usage policy

With the introduction of the Unlimited plan, we need to somehow prevent the abuse of the system. Therefore, we take this opportunity to introduce a Fair Use policy that applies to all customers: If it is detected that a website is consuming too many resources, we will try to contact the owner of the account to discuss possible solutions. Until these solutions are implemented, the use of ShortPixel Image Optimization Cloud will be restricted.

This policy is intended for extreme cases. So, rest assured that the vast majority of our customers will not be affected by this policy.

Costs, payments, and refunds

Our previous Terms of Service did not address several situations that may arise regarding costs, payments, and refunds. In this update, the main changes are:

• Terms of Service for the Unlimited plan.
• Clarification: recurring credits do not carry over to the next month.
• Refund requests must meet certain criteria.
